‘Mr. Duffy lived a short distance from his body.’….. James Joyce , The Dubliners.

So what is our Philosophy? The promotion of Leadership and the concept of Care

More than anything people want to matter, to add value and to be fulfilled. Being a passive participant is no longer a cool thing to do. The word care is a word that is not part of our lexicon, certainly in American and Western cultures, but it is a word that is gaining currency. For so long, we have been oriented by doing and having, not being. We have mused about why this has produced a feeling of deadness, a mood of limitation and dissatisfaction. Identifying what you care about can bring clarity to your purpose, and when you align that with potential and remove doubt, you can get at true performance and hopefully satisfaction.

Purpose + Passion + (Potential-doubt) = Performance

In addition to our inertia about being, we have also been gripped by our stories. They keep is where we are. We live as immutable creatures of habit buffeted by events and circumstance. We believe we have no control over the stories we perpetuate and live as true. Assessments, moods, limiting views and beliefs are what keep us where we are.

Coaching is a learning discipline that seeks to help people achieve planned results with attendant learning and fun. This may indulge nonsense or silliness which is necessary in a climate of gloom and seriousness.

“We can….when imagination is joined with common purpose” Barack Obama, President USA.

Our Role: As leaders we have a responsibility to influence those that chose to follow us and we need to endeavour to find mastery from within. The people who follow us are no different from us in terms of needing help sometimes. They need to be served, protected, and defended while in our care. Leadership is not just in your head and to discover what it is to be a leader a new form of learning has emerged – Coaching.

Ontological coaching is an approach to coaching that looks at the entire person. It pays attention to the congruence between language, moods and emotions and the body of a person.

As an ontological coach and as part of Lime Trees Road, we can help clients see things differently often by providing distinctions that did not seem obvious before.
Wanting difference but behaving as we always do is a good definition of insanity. We hope that by noticing more, being in choice and taking the time to reflect and to observe, we as humans will save time and put into practise behaviours that are productive and yield to potential, this is our invitation. Our offer so to speak!
